Mary Beth Bauermann is a second-year PhD student in the music department. She is on the critical studies track and her current interests include American popular music, performance studies, dance and movement aesthetics, and music performances depicted in literature. She has experience writing for both academic audiences and public-facing magazines. She is also proficient in reading and writing in French. Outside of the Writing Center, she enjoys running, reading, playing guitar, and listening to music like it's going out of style
